Fairly recently I read a story regarding a man who was a
father of four young children who was a crack/cocaine addict. He had a lovely
wife whom he'd been married to on and off during the last twenty years due to
his harmful addictions. He lied to his wife, as well as his children all of the
time, he stole from them, and also destroyed his relationships with them
resulting from his addiction which was in fact overtaking his life. At the time
I read over the article this man’s wife had allowed him back in the home, and
had begun relying on him again. One day she let him take her pickup truck to
drop her son off somewhere, after a long while she began to have an uneasy
feeling. She called the law enforcement officials, and they soon identified her
truck at a crack addict’s house. His wife got inside the pickup truck and then
drove it home, leaving behind her husband at the crack house with no car. Soon
after her husband showed up home and wanted to be let in, she declined, and
told him he needed to find someplace else to stay. After a bit of time the
husband called up his child to meet up with him at the store to give him quite
a few stuff. When the boy went to meet up with his father, his father stood him
up and then snuck into the family’s home, and took several of the kid’s
electronic devices to help cover his crack addictive habits. This tale just
breaks my heart, think of everything that this family has gone through with
their father virtually all because of his crack addiction. Where do you turn
once you get this deep into an addiction, when you get to the point that
nothing matters anymore?
The perfect destination for somebody who is going through
something similar to this would be an addiction center. If somebody that is
battling with an addiction does not ask for the outside help which they need,
they can have a very difficult time breaking the habit. Anybody that is seeking
to conquer an addiction needs to escape the situation they are in, move away
from their life, and change almost everything around them entirely. This is why
an addiction recovery center is really so great. It gets the particular person
out from their life, and sets them in a location where everyone is trying to do
